Mechanical Engineer

 Company Overview:

Developer of Pyrolysis plants across the United Kingdom. Extracting value from plastic waste through sustainable fuel production and repolymerisation. It is a developing sector that fits in with the government's circular economy ambitions.

The business is in Berkshire operating from two sites (Binfield & Thatcham)

Team:

  • Looking for individuals who are eager to work in dynamic and emerging sector 
  • Emphasis on personal development through additional training courses and seminars 
  • Self-motivated team members who can show flexibility regarding the tasks at hand 

Tasks:

  • Understanding of the P5000 pyrolysis-unit 
  • Monitor the performance of the mechanical P-5000 system
  • Provide technical and engineering support and guidance to on-site team 
  • Ensures that mechanical systems meet statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Support production installations with maintenance planning, delivery and troubleshooting activities 
  • Carry out general Project Engineering studies and activities 
  • Comply and adhere to relevant industry/company codes and standards when partaking in any activity 
  • Report any breaches of safety procedures to supervision / management 
  • Aid in developing procedures for mechanical operations, designs and maintenance 
  • Actively participate and promote company health and safety campaigns , policies and procedures 
  • Future development of Pyrolysis systems (Microwave assisted)
  • Engage in electrical and chemical operations when necessary
  • Aid in CAD inputs

  • A knowledge base of the waste and Petro chemical industries  
  • Knowledge in developing advanced thermal treatment technologies 
  • A fundamental understanding of thermochemical conversion techniques for waste material exploitation
  • Understanding of programmable logic controllers 
  • Previous use of chemical analysis equipment such as mass spectrometry machines 
  • Higher education degree/ master's in mechanical engineering (not essential)
  • A renewable energy enthusiast
